Benthos are making their mark in the world of experimental progressive metal, hailing from Milan, Italy. Blending intricate elements of prog metal, mathcore, and post-hardcore, the band creates a sonic universe where precision collides with unpredictability, and melody crashes into madness. Formed in 2018, Benthos quickly made an immediate impact on the Italian metal scene, opening for The Contortionist in 2019. Their debut album II introduced their blend of intricate rhythms and dynamic guitar work, earning praise from metal and progressive communities worldwide.

Benthos' live shows are as captivating as their music—hypnotic, schizophrenic, and intense. After their 2022 The Essence Tour, the band took their electrifying energy to the main stage of Dissonance Festival 2023, alongside industry heavyweights Meshuggah, Soen, and Destrage.

With the release of Fossil, Pure, and As a Cordyceps, the band continues to captivate audiences with bold soundscapes that break creative boundaries while staying true to their signature intensity.
